Go to InDesign>Preferences>General (or Command K for the shortcut), go to the Interface pane and check the Live Screen Drawing setting. Yours is probably set to Never. Change it to Immediate if you want it to go right away, or Delayed if you want to be able to see what you have now, but it will show if you wait two seconds between the time you click on the image and the time you move the image.
